AUSTRALIAN SURF LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS - MASTERS SERIES

On the 26th and 27th of March 2012, Platinum Physiotherapy director Kim Findlay competed at the Australian surf life saving championships, representing North Avoca Surf Club in the Masters Series, which took place in extreme surf conditions
at Queensland's Kurrawa beach.

Kim did well winning a bronze medal in her individual iron women event, a silver medal in the board rescue event with team mate Narelle Duggan and a bronze medal in the surf ski relay event with team mates Trina Cansick and Colleen Harrison.
Kim is absolutely stoked with her results and sends her congratulations to the rest of the North Avoca masters team who all performed at their best and achieved some great results.

This years Aussies proved to be a epic event for the North Avoca masters team!

The championships took a devastating turn of events on the 28th, the first today of the Opens Series, when at 3.30pm,
14 year old boy Matthew Barcley from Maroochydore surf club did not return from the water after entering a board race event.
Rescue operations continued for the next 20 hours at the notoriously dangerous beach until Matthews body was found
approximately 2km north of the event.

Kim and the teams at Platinum Physiotherapy and NASLSC send out their deepest sympathies and support to Matthews family, friends and surf club. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
